The 2014 “China Philanthropy Talents Development Program” Launched

On March 18, the second training session of “China Philanthropy Talents Development Program” was launched, and began to accept applications from charitable organizations nationwide. So far, more than 300 applications have been received. A panel of experts will review applications and select 50 talented charity professionals to receive training. The deadline of the application is the end of April.

The program was jointly initiated by China Charity Donation and Information Center and Amway Charity Foundation (ACF) under the guidance of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The first training session was held from May to July in 2013 and 50 charity professionals received training. During that period, instructors from renowned organizations shared charity theories and practices with trainees through online and offline channels. These organizations included NGOCB, Tencent Charity Foundation, AHA School of Social Innovation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Institute for Leadership Excellence and Gongyi.weibo.com. The training greatly improved trainees’ ability in resource development, fundraising, project management, financial management and team building, and built a platform for them to exchange ideas and share experience. In this year, trainees are also expected to improve their abilities through classroom instruction, drills and tutoring. Outstanding trainees will receive special support.

ACF has invested RMB10 million into this three-year program. Every year, top 10 trainees will receive RMB100,000 as development fund for their programs. After the conclusion of the entire project, the top 10 trainees will have the opportunity to study in famous universities abroad. ACF is devoted to meeting the demand for philanthropy talents, supporting their development and exploring a new model to develop more talents for the cause.
