Get to Know Spring Sprout Project
The Spring Sprout Project aims to provide left-behind children in Central and Western China with well-balanced and nutritious meals by establishing Spring Sprout Kitchens and training kitchen staff in their boarding schools.
To date, the Spring Sprout Project by ACF has built over 750 Spring Sprout Kitchens, covering 45 counties in Chongqing, Guangxi, Shaanxi, Anhui, Hubei, Hebei, Henan and Ningxia. Over 350,000 left-behind children in those rural areas have been benefited and gained access to nutritious, safe, convenient and affordable meals. In April 2012, the Spring Sprout Project won the “the Most Influential Charity Project” at the 7th China Charity Award——the top honor in philanthropy from the government.
